Resources

Everything on this page is an affiliate link–using these resources will earn me cash or credit, just so you know. And everything here is something that I actively use myself.

BLOGGING

Namecheap.com – where I bought this blog’s domain name (and a few others.) If you have clever website names that aren’t yet taken, you can buy them cheap now and possibly make money later selling them to people.

Bluehost.com – where my website is hosted. You can create a blog for free but you gotta pay for it to live somewhere.

WP Rocket – is a website performance plugin (it makes things faster!) I ended up using it because a previous plugin I used didn’t play nice with another plugin.

Superstarblogging.com – When I bought this training course, it was called “Travel Blog Success” and it really helped me to get up and running with a professional-looking site when I knew ZERO about blogging. They provide a community of other bloggers and loads of resources to help you learn to make money from your blog.

TRAVEL

Trustedhousesitters.com – this is where I find housesits all around the world. You pay an annual fee and the hosts who need their pets/house cared for pay an annual fee and you apply to stay at as many houses as you want during the year. Perfect for animal lovers and those who work remotely. This link gets you 25% off.

Airbnb – where I find almost all of my vacation rentals, from just a bed in a room to a whole house.

MONEY

Invest with Teri – this is where I make my actual money, swing trading on the stock market using the Invest with Teri method. Teri Ijeoma is really down-to-earth and easy to understand. She makes the stock market super accessible to normal people like you and me. And through her agreements with the Trade Station trading platform, I don’t pay *any* commission fees or data fees. You can get started trading in a simulated account for as little as $500, and access a margin account for as little as $2000.

Google Adsense – this isn’t an affiliate link, but I do earn money from the ads on this website. I think they’re obnoxious but it’s kind of fun to track visitors and views through their platform. And I get entire pennies for each view! 😆

Acorns app – This is a phone app (iPhone or Android) that will invest your spare change. The best plan is to put it in place and forget about it but you can get the money out any time if you really need it. I consider it my deepest emergency fund. If I’m really stuck somewhere and have flat run out of money, at least I can get home with what’s in this fund.
